Oh, that's good. that'll probably even out japan and china, and on second thought, the rest should be pretty balanced. I want to play the scenario after these changes, looks really nice

The allies are really underpowered in this scenario. China is likely to lose out within a few turns if Japan plays correctly (the two most money-producing countries have japanese inf next to them), not to mention Japan has a huge income advantage. China needs a slight buff, in income or by removing japanese inf near those two countries (I know it's for history but balance is important) and the axis as a whole needs a slight nerf (russia vs europe won't work out)

I just lost to vaglneer playing germany IF and I was SM spain and got rome, paris, london 1st turn, I also walled rome london same turn, wall glitched them next turn but still got owned. So it's pretty apparent germany IF is op and sixstars didn't have much to do with his "lol funny to see after I win"

Sorry, 2 HP would make it less epic. Just add cost to the units so they learn to value Infantry instead of spamming it all around. 2 HP would make it too similar to Perfect Defense.


no, HP is a completely different stat...also, aristo, who is the best IF player in the game, agrees on this nerf. I think this should stand.

IF wasn't nearly as developed back then as it is now. Strats change and get better over time (see: GW), also it was fine at +2

Since Iron Fist units are stronger, make them more expensive (so they can have less) +30 cost for all units. Remove transport nerf. Germany IF will be done.


pls try playing it first. also, you weren't here when there was +2 HP, so you wouldn't know...the transport nerf has obviously failed as IF is just an OP faceroll, +2 HP worked pretty well (it surely was not OP, but was not underpowered), so IF should revert back to that.

Cost nerfs never work also, sorry

Make IF have 2 HP and remove the transport nerf

+2 HP was fine, but nobody used IF until rushka/aristo in tournament, so pls bring it back to that, it's ridiculously OP. With this strat basically whoever gets 1st pick in a 1v1 wins (IF Germany cannot be beat)

- player-rankings based on SP doesn't show a players skill, the following suggestions would also increase the competition in this game and be another step to make Afterwind the leading strategy-browser-game

Yes, we were considering using the ELO system, but there are many difficulties with this. For example, the player lineup in games is very fluid: players join and leave - and some of them never even meet (one already left, another joined later). Determining who played against who is very complicated. Then, we really don't want to reduce player SP at any point (currently it only happens in duels, which are optional) - this would lead to the top players hardly ever getting any SP and more often losing it. Hardly a good motivation.


You should add it as a separate system, kinda like duel SP. In order for it to work you'd need to have an ELO room or a special ELO game, just to guarantee the match is ranked. Also, ELO should only be used for 1v1's, so regular duel rules can apply and work well with this system.

yes, but if walls are always defensive (as I suggested), then walls will never be able to go back. it should work if it's possible to make walls ONLY defend

Keep atk nerf, remove cost nerf. militia come free with every country/city cap, so an atk nerf OR a defense nerf is pretty necessary

It's pretty tedious to look at which medals are nearing completion (especially when there are tons of medals), adding a progress bar (similar to the one for next rank in SP, which can be seen in the page with games) would be really simple and helpful.

I agree with the original post. The rules are very vague and are easily exploitable by mods (can mute/ban someone for no reason due to vagueness of rules), and should be specified. Generally, law doesn't work with 4 very vague ideas.

This is completely related and on topic, YOBA. This thread is presenting a problem and a solution. My suggestion is aimed at the problem presented by this thread. The islands are a suggestion to counter the proposal that "world games are boring". It is on topic to discuss islands in this thread. Making another thread would be stupid, because this is the thread which the suggestion pertains to.


The name of the thread is "World games are boring; a solution (movement range increments)", meaning it is the AUTHOR'S solution he want's to talk about. Not your's. If you find your idea good, please go make a thread about it. The author would like to talk about his idea only, so please listen to him.


Wrong. A suggestion thread gathers ideas on one topic and attempts to improve it -- after all, we ARE talking about the authors suggestion, but we're improving it. Also, the name of the title is "World games are boring; a solution (movement range increments)," so improving movement range is to be discussed here. You're not making any sense at all.


Also, adding islands IS a solution to this problem. It adds more 'checkpoints' in oceans, which is the main problem with world games. I don't see how Houdini's suggestion is unrelated at all really, you guys are just acting really shallow.
