Seems good at first appearance, but easy to abuse.
If a player lost his team-mates, has most SP and did a good job fighting a superior number of enemies, they could just vote for a longer game and would win the vote because they are more.

I'm totally against this option, since it would motivate unfair matches even more. If a player won by SP in a 50 turn match he only played by the rules stated at the start, changing it in the middle of the game would only make it unfair.

Also, some players only start a game they can finish and if I can only play 50 turns I woudn't be happy to see it changed to 100 when I'm about to finish it.

Just make it so that ALL players have to agree. Not a player majority. If everyone agrees, then whats the problem?

Or a 2/3's vote. The SP leader probably won't want to extend time, also pinheiro is just saying that because he abuses the game ending at 50 turns to hell...

Yeah they haven't done anything major besides a stat tweak and a dumb street team idea. instead of coming up with ways of losing profit to random people who will bring in maybe 50 people who probably won't stay, how about update the game (look at COWS THREAD and do those updates please...) and maybe more people will come then.

I remember when there were frequent updates and the community was growing really quickly, but now it's just the same people, I rarely see any good new people who play frequently (they're all turks now ;__;)

In the case of the game I was in, the SP leader was allied with everybody but one person for most of the game. When the game ended, everybody lost but him. The SP leader (tunceli) refused to ally with him (el_kolonel)

Ironail came up with the bracket league before you smartass. Also NatFan9, this is present in most hardcore shooter and strategy (mostly RTS) games, trust YOU to not understand!

it's just a separate ranking system (not to replace SP) that gives you a rating based on the difficulty of the opposition

As COW / others suggested already (though that thread is dead, needs another mention), please add Bracket Rankings that takes rank, SP, and W/L into account. Duels were a good addition, yes, but something more dynamic and more easily accessible should be implemented.

1v1 bracket:

Should take rank/SP and # of times played against a certain player into account. (also uses opponents rating, obviously)

2v2 bracket:

Form a team (maybe have 2 teams per player?), and have ranking be an average of team-rankings
Takes rank/SP (same as the 1v1 bracket) into account.

honestly we need an update, and something as simple as this would be extremely refreshing. SP is a terrible measuring stick of somebodies skill, and I feel that lower ranks would be better represented by this. Obviously this suggestion isn't complete yet, but taking those factors into account and implementing a rating system based on that would be a step forward in a game that really needs an update


EDIT: This is not to replace the SP system, just a separate ranking system

How about add luck to finding special units ?

most people play w/o specials anyway, try making it more balanced with all game types pls

Elo rating system
- player-rankings based on SP doesn't show a players skill, the following suggestions would also increase the competition in this game and be another step to make Afterwind the leading strategy-browser-game
-> implement a ladder ranking with brackets
-> point-system similar to ELO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system)
-> brackets could be: rated 1vs1, rated team-games: 2vs2, 3vs3
-> players would have to stay in their team, if the leave it to join another they loose their rank


pls add this, would add a whole new *refreshing* dimension to the game
the game's updates have been coming slowly, and something like this would prob make up for them

Profile picture upload works just fine. At no point will the picture ever revert to the old version, that's just impossible. However, you profile picture always has the same filename, which causes some browsers to ignore the fact that it's been updated. Use Ctrl+F5 to refresh browser cache (in IE).

Btw, just so you know who to contact in which case: Amok for any in-game bugs. Me for any website bugs/problems.

I deleted the pic (my old profile picture), which worked just fine. Then, I uploaded my new one, and when I checked my profile, the old picture (the one I deleted) was there. It took 1.5 days for the actual picture I wanted to become my profile picture...

edit: might be browser cache, i'll check it out in a sec

The save button
The save button problem was already noticed some time ago. On these 2 topics:

But it's good that you've have brought it back to the attention. The 'save button bug' is very annoying, and it's unable to use because it's unreliable. I'll hope they will work on that soon.

Uploading picture
I think you mean your profile picture? What exactly is your problem with uploading a picture? Did you read the description?

The save button doesn't work right; everytime you click the save button (even if you don't do anything) EVERY wall made that turn will double up in units and will break.

also, the pic uploader sucks. I tried uploading a pic, it didn't work, now it changed my pic back to my old default a day later ;_;

I've heard from some players already that they would buy premium features just to make 100+ cities games. In my opinion, that's the main objective.

I mean if it's the main method of making money, at least give the newbies a way to change rare unit rates...rare units are p game breaking most of the time

and i'm still amazed that premium is a dollar a week (idk if caulerpa is bsing me or not)...

Necessary? You can play game without 100 cities or team games, and it's still great. And btw you can still play with that settings if someone who pays for premium creates a game.
This game really has fair premium price (about 1 dollar per week with SMS, and with PayPal it's even cheaper...), and premium users are not over powered.
I would leave it the way it is now.

having full access to game settings is something that shouldn't be taken for granted, and not everyone has access to a paypal let alone would be allowed to use it.
