I don't know which idea you are talking about, but either way, it is possible for two people to come up with similar ideas without ever having seen the other's work. This has actually happened many times throughout history. So, please refrain from using the word "stealing" unless something has actually been stolen.

With that said, I know how big of a proponent of ELO that Cow was, so I am not surprised at all if he had presented a similar idea at some point in the past. Rather than accuse someone of stealing though, wouldn't it be better to link someone to the topic so that they could see it rather than instantly accusing them of stealing?

Well, I'm not one to speak on behalf of Americans, but certainly some probably don't give a shit about swearing oath to God. Sure they might do it, but they probably see it as very insignificant to their personal beliefs and way of life. Therefore, to those individuals who don't believe in God, the notion of them being oppressed is completely and utterly absent. Despite America having set beliefs for its country and a particular national pride, the country itself and its respective citizens are still individualistic more than anything else.

As for the government saying their citizens are completely free, well, it's obvious that that's just pure bullshit. So I agree with you there, and the notion of the government slowly taking away liberties by the use of fear.

So to return to your original statements; some Americans are atheists and are fighting against the government to change their laws accordingly; some are atheists who just don't give a shit; some believe in God and adhere to their government; and some believe in God and don't give a shit as to the implications this belief has with their government. And of course, there are more variations, I just listed a few.

Americans are not as generalized as you described them to be... And same goes for all western countries; individualism makes these considerations much more complex.

I like asking questions like these recently, because many westerns accuse Russia and USSR for oppression and totalitarism but when infact americans are doing exactly the same thing they are talking about for Russia.

In USSR you have to swear loyalty to the Party, in USA to the God. so whats the difference, that isnt freedom when you force people to swear to someone/something they dont believe to.

Doesnt that mean americans who dont believe in God are oppressed, as other americans doesnt give them liberty? So why then USA lie how their country is free and brave when in reality they take away liberties and oppress their countrymen(and globe) because of their fears.

Funny thing is ...the same could be said to you too ..."you just know that god doesnt exist" ..."no you dont. You think you know"
Religious views are result of childhood OR adulthood indoctrination ...one doesnt only become religious when he is a child.
Faith in a deity or some greater meaning can be a different thing then religious view ...spiritualism can be separated from religion.
Religion is a mass fictional fantasy that is using human spiritualistic ability.
I said this before so many times ...religion or church being fiction is not a proof that some form of deity doesnt exist, this is a job for science.

First human being believing that sun is a god or that rain came from from gods was faith without indoctrination, he was wrong ...but he had faith and nobody forced that on him.
