Boku no pico was pretty good imo

Samurai Champloo is a drug. I just couldn't stop untill I finished it lol (25 episodes if I remember well) Adventure, funny and dramatic at the same time

And it left a lasting impression too. Short ones are the best.

Edit: Fairy Tail is cool too, but I mostly watch that cuz of the hot, animated chicks. Especially Erza's armours, each more sexy than the last

Think my favorite one (also the most recent I watched, which was 5 months ago) was Zankyou no terror, pretty good should check it out if you're into that kind of stuff

Elfen Lied.
Lots of meaningless killing and sadism, with major darker themes on the backstories of the characters(Bullying, being a scientific test subject, having a pedophilic stepfather).
With the exception of the existence of a killer race it just seems more realistic than other anime I've watched.
