Revival of Competitive 3v3?

I know I am not reputed for having any special ability or skill, but I love 3v3s.

And over the years there have been less and less of them taking place, what with all the higher tiered and veteran players leaving.

We know part of the problem is what I just said, alongside the fact that AW is not exactly an EA sports title (successful).

So what can we do currently to improve these conditions?

I added a password (Hi I am Noir) so that only players seeing this thread about competitive play join, not sure if that was a good idea or not. But you know, that might allow you to bring a buddy in before all places are filled.

Edit: by the way, not sure I qualify as a competitive player myself, not so much experience in Eu+
Edit2 (a little late, maybe): don't forget that on turn 1, nobody will reinforce. That means there is an extra income turn before we reinforce in comparison to quick games, which might unbalance typical strategies...

nostrat needs to be nerfed

I think there is a simple solution to aid this problem, although it is not a certain fix.

Removing the premium feature to alter game settings would go a long way in bringing in new players/ low rank players/ and scenario players into the competitive scene. At the current moment, all non premium players are only able to host FFA nilla games, thus constricting the competitive player base. Imagine if all players had the ability to host these types of games, how many players do you think would switch over to playing 2v2's/ 3v3's and so on. This would also, in certain circumstances reduce the skill gap between players, as an influx of lower ranking players would have the ability to practice playing team based game modes.

Sadly however, this isn't a decision the community can make, it is up to the admins. But when you think about it, charging players $30+ just for the ability to be able to host a team based game mode is a little bit ridiculous..

Brother, the fact they don't drastically lower prices is insane anyways. If they made reasonable and greatly reduced prices for premium, like 12$ life time, there would be a greater demand for premium.

First of all, yes, you were really doing good for a 3v2.
I might be wrong, but I believe Luke timed out later (something like turn 3), but agreed, it became a 3v2 nonetheless.
This being said, Luke's not here, and the fact that he timed out does not impact the decision of the current players to time out or not.
I can suggest that we set clear guidelines that everyone agrees on, something like:
- if timeout occurs during turn 1 or 2, then we just surrender and start over (or anything similar)
- if someone experiences the no strat bug (not sure if luke experienced it or he just forgot to pick his strat), we surrender and start over
Maybe there already exists some standards to determine if we play the game or not that you guys (quick players) usually agree upon, i have no problem using them...

ANYWAYS, obviously, if you don't want to play again, i will definitely not pressure you into joining. But you would definitely be welcome to ( please save me)
