What i saw in some team games, usually larger ones. Is that people will let certain teammates die or wont put full effort into helping them. Some reasons for this are- "Its a waist of SP", "I needed the SP and he would just take it up", "They would only get in the way and i can do much better than them", "Its useless to try to save him", and lastly "Why should i save him what good can he do for me?". I want to make it so that they can do good for being saved, even if they are broke and have no units, so that every teammate counts towards an end goal and lives. We could give a bonus of SP or some other type of award for having a certain percent of allies alive at the end of the game. (More rewards for more team members total at the start of the game if they make it to the end) This would allow people to reconsider saving an ally (doesnt mean they have to, but it helps open up a thought for some, they judge whether or not its worth it to save them from there)

If it's going to be a very long game one that will end before everyone on one of the teams dies then it comes down to sp and it can be worth saving an ally for the team to win with most sp

Maybe having your team win in a game can be a win on your games even if you die so you still get full sp even if knocked out?

Well in cw if you lose and your team wins it will show as a loss on your games log but a win in your cw log so I would assume it possible might be a bit of a pain to set up tho

Maybe team games should start working on the same principle CW games work ...your team wins = you win too even if you lose ...fuck not "maybe", it should work like that.

Agree also...
Getting back to Captain Rider's point of somehow acknowledging 'ally' aiding, i think this is a great idea - perhaps a modest multiplier in SP for each ally that lasts to the end of game. For instance, in a 5v5, maybe a 5% SP bonus for each ally that remains at games end, the total bonus if all survive would be 20%. When i first started playing AW, i enjoyed the teamwork aspect and would sacrifice troops to save an ally just to keep him in the game... as time passed, i realized that this was not a common thing to do, and often the weaker ally left anyway, despite the help. i became less inclined to help a weakening ally as doing so also weakened my position if they left. On the flip side, It was also frustrating to have an ally purposely not lend aid, and let you die when they could have easily prevented it, simply so they would grab a bigger SP slice. This leads to more 'selfish' growth and expansion, even though it may not be the best for your team as a whole. I strongly support Captain Rider's suggestion... i think it will make team games more interesting and may even help promote better 'sportsmanship' in the AW community.

Support better 'sportmanship' and teamwork, and support anyway that can be encouraged and/or rewarded.

I'm not aiding you in a team game even if you begged me Support the idea, people should learn to play as a team sometimes

Agree... Also, the every man for himself thing is easy... even rats and other animals model that kind of strategy... and the betrayal option is always available... the thread is about balancing the game so there isn't the incentive to let your ally die.

Let's all behave like rats pls
Let's all betray like rats!
If balancing the game is the aim... since you're too strong, I might just let you die to balance things out Back to topic, doesn't recap an ally give you extra sp?? I also like the idea that even if you die in a game, if your team wins it counts as your win as well since I tend to suicide in favour of my team die like a hero!

free for alls would probably stop getting hosted by the knew premium members, would be relying too heavily on older players with premium to host non team games. you know cause they will want the sp regardless of there skill level and they will be going up sp that they havent really earned. Maybe a way for the players in the team games to say yea he helped out or no he didnt and the sp will be rewarded on how the surviving players think they played?

if its rewared on how everyone thinks they played u could just spam the OUTSTANDING button, so that wouldnt work. Also it wouldnt be a crazy SP boost it would only be percentages (aka decimals) not like the clan wars x2

your right about the spamming thing alright. i was thinking you could only get a max of 1/4 of half your earned sp (a half because of losing) out of losing in a team game as you have lost you shouldnt be getting the full payload of sp or anywhere near it for that matter. i.e. the max would be determined by all of the remaining players saying you played well. there is also the problem that players know each other and regardless of how well someone plays people will always rate some other down low out of spite. so really this probably wont ever come to be used realistically in game
