Nope. Moonlight at the moment supports the Silverlight 2 specification and the game uses Silverlight 4 technology and the two don't go together.

With all the layoffs at Novell, I don't see Moonlight being developed much further... my proud (and all-time favourite) distro is dying too due to this...

Just use the Wine software. You can run any microsoft software... as long as you have microsoft on your computer already.

LOL, have you ever used WINE? Do you even have Linux?
*sigh*

You don't run just "microsoft software", you run Windows software, that is, software for the Microsoft Windows operating system.
And another point that you get way wrong; it doesn't matter if you have Windows on it or not.

Because Wine Is Not an Emulator. It runs Windows software as if it were native Linux software, it doesn't pretend it is Windows to get it to run. It makes Linux and other Unix or Unix-like operating systems (such as BSD and Mac OS) use native Windows DLL files and other such libraries to get games to run well.

As for actually using WINE in an attempt to get the new version of Silverlight working in Linux... you never know. WINE is actually an incompatible pile of crap in case you haven't used it, it doesn't work with even some 10-year old very popular video games. But actually making the Silverlight plug-in for Windows run like a native Linux plug-in is extremely difficult. But in case it's possible... are there any WINE experts you know of? I'd be interested to hear their thoughts on the problem. WINE could be genuine solutions to our Afterwind problems both on Linux (where it's unplayable) and Mac (where it has a buggerload of issues).

Silverlight doesn't have a proper Linux version. Moonlight currently only suports Silverlight 2, while the game requires Silverlight 4. Sorry about that, hopefully this will change in the future.

No fucking way man. What's your set-up? I know that a lot of people run Firefox under WINE purely for Flash content--because Flash is slow as shit on Linux and it's getting no more updates anymore (except through Google Chrome's Pepper API, which Mozilla and Opera hate on big time).

Sure, I could always run Windows through a Virtual Machine but my PC can't really handle that.
So what's your set-up? Are there any extra packages you need? I don't actually have WINE installed at the moment. Do I need to edit any text files? Does it work out of the box?! I'M SO EXCITED!!!

I use PlayOnLinux. It's a third party software for Wine. By the way what version of Linux do you use?

I use PlayOnLinux. It's a third party software for Wine. By the way what version of Linux do you use?

That's a Gtk program, isn't it? I haven't heard very good things about it but I'll give it a pop. So does it just work? No configuration needed? Do you play it through a browser?

By version I assume you mean distribution. I use Chakra Linux, a really obscure distribution unlike any other. It's based off of Arch Linux which is known for being very snappy but insanely hard to install, like, Gentoo level difficulty. But this is just a disc image and the installation is as easy as pie. The peculiar thing about Chakra is that it's KDE-desktop only. Which means it keeps it clean of disgusting GNOME apps and anything written in Gtk. Qt for life bro.

Anyway, I will probably revert back to Xubuntu as soon as 12.04 comes out this month. miss the large number of packages available and compiling from source is not my kind of thing. If you haven't tried Xubuntu, I would highly recommend it. Unity and GNOME Shell are horrendous abominations and KDE is a bit heavy and crash-prone, while everything else is either too ugly or feels incomplete (like Enlightenment 17, which is great BTW). You should check it out. So, back on topic:

Will you actually answer my questions this time? They're in the first paragraph.
