actually the british empire systematically tried to wipe out cultures to ensure its survival in that area, without a culture to fall back on an indigenous group didnt know of any other way of living and would eventually forget about it and take up the new way of living. In fact the British empire was so detrimental to conquered territories 'as was most of Europe' its pretty much the reason why most of africa is in the shits to this day. In irish histroy there was massive swathes of time when the english done nothing on the island but destroy and target cultural hubs in an effort to assimalate the irish more firmly into the empire, thats why the irish language is an endangered language, there was also a massive push by irish poloticians on a ground roots level to revamp the church the gaa and the irish language to instill some form of culture back into the island. In effect the only thing the English empire actually got right was their treatment of the native American's before and during the American war of independence, i'm not trying to fling shit at the USA but american presidents then tried to systematically wipe out the natives when they won that war. if i was going to pick a Nation it would have to be China, when they set up outposts on the takla makan desert it lead to the silk road having a much faster route through all of asia, or at the least allowed the japs, koreans, and chinese to transport there merchendise alot faster to places as far as Istanbul and even rome and back. Not to mention the advancements that the chinese made long before anyone else ever came close. there philosophical thought processes as well. a lof of people grant Greece with the greatest thinkers in the ancient world but china held there own in that regard. The constant tog of war between different groups but yet that didnt tear the country apart and it has survived for the most part intact with on of the longest standing histories with so many different rulers ways of ruling and just an incredible history to go with

Historically - Greece, but most important for me today is Norway as it is world benchmark and rolemodel how to create a state and/or nation/society (except homosexuality). Since they mix ideologies and systems and result is 1# country in almost everything.

The question wasn't which nation has the best impact on the world, but which nation had the largest impact. Your post only helps to show how big of an impact the British Empire had on the world, thus proving my point. I never said the impact was good or bad, only that it was large.

Actually the question is "what country is the most important to human history". now that fact that the english tried to destroy all warrens of a culture that did include the history of the culture, they would have to go near enough to last on the list, where as the chinese have one of the oldest intact recordings of history in the world so they would get my vote for first

Most important nations were United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, France and Holland, because they initiated globalization by establishing trade routes with other people, discovered new continents (Iberian) and developed previously known knowledges by the Greek. So Colonial Powers and Greece shaped the world.

they didnt actually tried to destroy all cultures. That opinion is a result of your own bias, because you are Britans small bullied brother, but while understandable, i think its not one that can be factually supported. In my opinion, British cared more about the resources and financial domination, than the cultural influence. Did they commit horrible attrocities on the subjugated population? Yes. Were the colonialised countries left over better than they were before? Probably also yes . Also if you really think having Britain as your neighboor is bad, try having the Ottomans, see how you like it. This might change your percpective. In the end, with all the ills and grievances that come with colonialism, we have a lot to thank the british and the other colonial powers, wether directly or indirectly. The only reasonable alternatives would have been, the native countries to remain small, isolated, backwarded tribalistic communities (unlikely) which would have been detrimental to our species progress as a whole and/or other regional powers filling the power vacuum and colonialising themselves, albeit a little later. Thinking of ottomans or japanese filling that hole, seems nightmarish to me.

i was worried someone would get side tracked with this line of thought and expected it too happen, but honestly this is still one of the stupidest things i've ever read, firstly they actually DID try to destroy the culture of some nations as the culture itself was strong enough to hold the nation together without any real government bodies or inherent leaders. same thing happened in south africa among other smaller nations that were taken over that really had a strong culture embodiment , the Spanish done this as well in the america's its over now in most countries but it DID happen not a result of my bias in any way. i'm not bias against the english the same way i'm not against the spanish or french for continually fucking up when they sent catholic armies to fight protestant english in the country. and so much for Ireland being the small bullied brother. there are four nations on these islands the english, scots welsh and irish and welsh are the small bullied brother. and the other 3 have battered the other over the head a plenty of times and then every so often the normans or the viking would visit.( not including northern ireland cause it didnt exist at the time the brits just took it too far like when you go for one extra piont and then you turn into a psycho raving lunatic weilding a bazooka and firing it at your best friend saying he got with your wife a decade before they had ever met each other. though regardless of any of that i wouldnt be able to say that a nation like america or the UK, should be getting a vote from anyone cause its pretty obvious that they warp history and facts to tell there story the way they want, even if its not provable, this is the type of thing that has always happened when someone has a wider sphere of influence. Khal you just helped me prove that last point actually with what you said, you believe that its not possible to prove that they done barbaric things, its clear that the british have a wider sphere of influence spreading all the way to thailand if you think butter wouldnt melt in there mouth. but these things HAVE been recorded and documented and are very easy too find. it is understandable though that you would have that opinion because Ireland doesn't invest in a global media circuit so you will only have the British side of events to tell from.

If the British destroyed or tried to destroy cultures, then they left a legacy in the form of reduced cultural diversity, thus reinforcing the point that the British was most important to human history.
Why don't you supply the evidence that the British or the United States was more responsible for this "warped history" than anyone else? When it comes to warping history, I've yet to see a major national government that isn't guilty of it.

what i'm saying is that all major governments do try to warp facts to their own benefit , god fucking damn i used england and ireland as a prime example as to why khal would not beleive that the brits done bad things to the irish due to the brits global media efforts vs the irish national media's come on i didnt want to put too many words on the screen to make it simple to follow. Negative impacts on history are not to be mistaken with important for human history. if the history of an area has been trwarted then it is useless to use today it is a lie and therefor irrelevant. You are mistaking a big impact on human history to what is actually Important to human history you need to actually think about what you are saying. (or typing) Its like your saying a foster parent is more important to a childs existence than the woman who gave birth to the child and the father who's dna runs in that child. If we are really looking for the nation that is most important for our history it would have to be the egyptians for using papyrus grass to write stuff down with or the germans for inventing the printing press or wherever it was in the bronze age that early man started writing first and then say that whichever border they were inside is the most important nation for our history but if we are looking for the nation with the biggest impact on human history then i would have to go for the Vatican city. without it getting all the catholic christian nations to wage war against the muslims then all of europe would now more than likely be muslim or the polish heavy cavelry winged hussars who single handedly repelled the islamic armies the first time the made it as far a vienna. from which would have changed everything about the age of exploration or maybe it wouldn't even have happened. however after saying all of that i'm still going to have to go with the chinese because of the way in which they recorded history and the fact that they had "scholars" recording that history as piont blank fact. back when europeans and middle easterners were still trying to kill everything and the most educated people were monks who wrote all their facts with giant swirling things on the borders of there pages. but on that note i bet you didnt know that the dark ages barely gripped the island of ireland and when everything calmed down again it was monks from there who went and re educated alot of the mainland european peoples because there was a lack of learned monks cause alot of them had been killed. smae thing happened with malta cause no one wanted to attack an island fortress so learned people could survive there and then spread out again when the fighting stopped.

Chinese scientists and doctors report that homosexuality is mental disorder, since human with that psychological problem have different sexual desires - to sleep with his own kind (man with man or women with women). Which is of course impossible and therefore it isn't sex at all in biological term, it is just 'perversion' according to medicine (anal sex, oral sex, penetrating with toys). Therefore i can't support an disorder, illness, that would be immoral. We have to cure illness and help those people, not ignore their problems.

Hmmmmmmmm... maybe, just maybe, the most influential country in world history was the ottoman empire. dont remove me, pretending i was a kebab now. the Ottomanes ended the byzantine empire and made the european powers start the crusades. the crusades changed world history extremely much and until the present day. the fact that we still talk about the crusades just shows how we are still influenced by them. also the crusades allowed the western countries to get new technology like gunpowder etc. wich allowed us to start a new age, the renaissance. also, what would have been impossible without gunpowder is colonialism. besides, the ottoman empire was HUGE and they changed the history of the balkans and the middle east forever.

Yes, we should be tolerant and help all people regardless what is their problem. We are barbarians if we ignore them and their problems which make their life worse. Doctors and hospitals help people no matter what color, race, nationality or language they speak or illness they have. That's why we invented medicine in the first place, to help people and cure diseases.

He's right though. Homosexuality is unnatural sexual orientation. The brain releases different chemicals than it should, and it makes the person think his same sex is attractive, instead of finding the other sex attractive. I'm not gay hater by the way. This is a scientific fact.

Most of the reports about homosexuality that is accessible in the internet, aren't right. The overall attitude towards homosexuality is to show it's a fine to love same sex, and that there's nothing wrong with it. Many scientists don't know what causes a person to become homo, some scientists say it's because of environmental influences, genetics and hormonal, but also say they aren't sure. There was report I read that the brain releases different chemicals then it should that causes person to love his own sex. Since the media is trying to make homosexuality an ok, the scientists reports are told to be unknown. Pedophiles can also live normal life, am I right? Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder. This disorder causes the adult person to be attracted to childerens, but since this is an unacceptable sexual orientation the correct scientifc reports about it are accessible.
