Are people afraid of loses showing up on their records or something? I notice that nearly every "competitive" player and i use that term loosely but basically they only ever abandon their games instead of just taking the loss. You can go through my records and every 3v3 or 2v2 there is, barely any of the players who lost that game show up there cause they abandon. I just wanna hear any of your guys thoughts on abandoning or surrendering. If you usually abandon games instead of taking the loss post your reason below.

Map- and scenario-makers: "abandoning" testing games.
Players being gang-banged or other reasons to "rage quit".

Well consider this having a perfect 20 win record in history, then you fail at some game and get 100 with no chances of wining...i whould chose the abandon button

The reason we used leave in the past, is because some years ago ranks mattered in cw's and we didnt want to rank up. We all did it, myself, lao, eagle, stryko , slowind and others, we all got stuck in rank 9 for a pretty long time, sometimes we even left cw's that we were winning after the win was safe enough.

Now we are just used to it, thats the only reason, i stopped leaving my games recently and i surrender now.

It's irrelevant. The number of losses is shown in cw count and...you better beat them, because in this way you can see them for sure. I don't care, everybody can use the Abandon button as they see fit. Since 2-3 months I started to abandon more games too, from 6% I raised to 10%. No biggie.

That doesn't make a difference. When you surrender, you lose half your SP, and that half is anyways divided up amongst the people who won. They don't get full SP divided amongst them even if you abandon.

Yes they do, if I make 1200 sp and surrender they take half the pot. If I quite they get the whole 1200 sp.

Nope, they only get the 600, you just waste the other 600 by leaving.

because clans were cowards.. ranks had to be balanced for eg 9, 9, 11 vs 7, 9, 13 so the lower rank you were the better. mauzer for example had a big disadvantage.

I have an abandon rate of 38%. Not because I abandon games so that it doesn't show on my profile but because I have limited time. 50% of games I abandon are those which I was sure of winning and most others are those which I didn't know the outcome of. It is fairly wrong to state a generalized view that every person having a high abandonment rate is afraid of losing.

I tend to abandon when obviously defeated but have very very low sp.
have also surrendered when obviously defeated but have very very low sp.
there are lots of maps/games out there for me sp's not the be all & end all.
always nice to win but if that win literally equals 2 sp then whoopydoo.
(my abandon rate = 22% at last look)
not being akward but rank does not always reflect skill level(premium-bonuses/playing self/returning after long absence
as we all know there are many reasons)

read number of wins/losses combine them & deduct from total number of games = % abandoned games (it does count towards overall total).
maybe not for cw but that's entirely different score system (i think!).
